As a child I had both a ‘regimented’ and a ‘railroaded’ upbringing. My Dad was a Sergeant-Major during the Second World War and I had a Grandfather and an Uncle on the railways. So this is a movie where the two come together and therefore I can watch again and again. Also I was so very proud of my Father.

BRAVO ! Congratulations to all those who made this thrilling movie. These were the days when good movies actually had a decent plot. I saw it first when i was 12 and it thrilled me today as much as it did then. Classy !

Beautiful visuals and Thrilling warfare and gunfight, very good acting all around. Movies as they should be. The Horse/Train chase scenes are great. Any Railways person would love the scenes.

All are interested . There are still 37 battalions of Hindu Gurkhas in Indian Army and 30 battalions of Sikhs proudly serving in Indian Army .
Ask the Mujahideen why Pashtuns are separated in 2 different countries ?? and Who made them do that ??

Um histórico e bom sobre a Índia. Comecei assistir agora, se fosse dublado ou legendado, seria muito melhor. Como não sei inglês, não continuarei assistindo. Deve ser um senhor filme.

That bridge scene — WOW! I thought for sure someone was going to fall, or get pushed. And man-o-man; Lom’s character (with a name that sounds like ben leaden…) made me want to push him off. And that vertiginous view down through those rails! Oh, heck, now Lom has the Maxim!!!

How a movie about the British in India turns into a discussion about American empire building…palm to forhead.

Anyway, a troubled time in a troubled country with a very rich and very long history. What this movie does show are very brave and disciplined Indian soldiers fighting just as brave rebels. I would invite people to look up and read about Indian army units that fought in both World Wars. You might be interested in just how good some if them were. Their enemies thought so.

    Respect, to them.
